Thomas “Tommy” Fergus Gibson

September 19, 1946 – May 18, 2025

It’s with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Thomas (“Tommy”) Gibson, at 8:08am on May 18th after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Tommy was born in Dublin, Ireland to Ada and Thomas. He married Mary in 1970 and then emigrated to Australia, before moving to Vancouver, BC, Canada in 1976. Tommy was a skilled diesel mechanic having established his own business. He was a lover of sunsets, bees, nature, a Reiki Master and soulful person, he would brighten everyone’s day. Known for his green thumb, wicked sense of humour, playful, joyful & sweet nature. Mary's absolute devotion through his battle with Alzheimer's for over a decade, was unwavering & their love for one another an inspiration in their 55-year marriage.

He was an incredible dad to his children Stephen, Katherine and Sean, grandad to a brood of adoring grandchildren, Sakura, Sienna, Liam, Aidan and Sophie. His three sisters, Ann, Adrienne and Hazel and his mother Ada who is now 97, are in our thoughts, alongside so many friends, back at home, in Ireland. He will now be able to rest and tilt a pint with his younger brother Larry and his Da once again.

Loved unconditionally, forever in our hearts, may his soul rest in peace. Grateful beyond words for his life and the community support through his illness and sharing their condolences.

Celebration of life will be livestreamed on June 21 at 11am PST / Vancouver-time & found on the Victory Memorial Park and Funeral Centre's website & linked here. No flowers please, consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society.

With all our family's love. xoxo
