Malcolm Mahady

The death has occurred of Malcolm (Mal) Mahady, Lucan. Co. Dublin after a long illness borne with courage and strength.

Malcolm died peacefully at home on 20th September 2025 after receiving care and support from the ENT medical team in St. James’s Hospital, Dublin, the Oncology teams in St James’s Hospital and St Luke’s Hospital, Rathgar, his local GP, Lucan Village Pharmacy and the Community Palliative Care Nurses from Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross,

Mal will be remembered by Susan who was very special to him, sisters Finola and Marian, brothers Paul and Dereck, daughter Grace, extended family and friends. Malcolm is pre deceased by his parents and his brother Michael.

With special thanks to his immediate neighbours and friends for their kindness and support to Malcolm during his illness, his friends from the 7/65 Battalion Association and his long time local friends for their friendship over the years.

Malcolm asked for a simple closure to his life - no reposing, no funeral service, only that he be privately cremated and his ashes scattered at a place he loved to visit and spend time at, and his wishes will be carried out at some future date.
