Esta McCarthy (née Canning), in her 90th year, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Friday 20th June 2025.

Cherished mother to Denis, Sean (deceased) and Susan and beloved sister to Geraldine and Aidan. Adored grandmother to Joe, Lily, Olivia and Emily, and special grandmother to Marie, Liz, John, Conor and Claire.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Kate, son-in-law Patsy, brother-in-law Tim, sisters-in-law Madeline, Margot and Mary, as well as her nieces, nephews, neighbours and many friends.

Predeceased by her parents, Jer and Moira Canning, her brothers Nicko, John and Jerome and sister Finola.

Lying in repose at her home, Elgin Cottage, Ballyduff, P51 X340,

on Sunday afternoon, June 22nd, from 4pm to 7pm.

Removal will take place from her home Elgin Cottage,

on Monday June 23rd at 2.00pm for a burial service at

St. Michael’s Cemetery, Ballyduff Upper.
