Don Connellan
Drumaveg, Maigh Cuilinn, Galway / Carrick-on-Shannon, Roscommon

It is with broken hearts that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of Don Connellan, Drumaveg, Maigh Cuilinn, Co. Galway, and formerly of Clooncoose, Hillstreet, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Roscommon, at Galway University Hospital on August 4th, 2025.

Beloved husband of Linda, and devoted father to their two precious sons, Eoin and Conor.

Predeceased by his father, Donal. Don will be deeply missed by his mother Ellen (Nellie), brothers Adrian and David, mother-in-law Mary Clancy, sisters-in-law Jacinta, Catherine, Ailish, Johanna, and Laura, and brothers-in-law Paul, Gearóid, and Gareth. Cherished uncle to Rachael, Cathal, Lilly, Jamie, Lily, Luke, Ellen, Finn, Mason, and Cooper. Don will be sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended Connellan and Clancy families, his colleagues in An Garda Síochána, and the GAA communities of Kilmore, Roscommon, Maigh Cuilinn, and Galway.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his home in Drumaveg, Maigh Cuilinn, Co. Galway on Wednesday, August 6th, from 4pm to 8pm.
Requiem Mass will take place on Thursday, August 7th at 12 noon in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Maigh Cuilinn.
Burial will follow immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

For those wishing to sympathise with Don’s family at the reposal on Wednesday evening, a shuttle bus service will operate to and from the Centra car park in Maigh Cuilinn.
Please note: There will be no access to Drumaveg for private vehicles. Shuttle bus only.
The family sincerely thanks you for your cooperation with the car park stewards and An Garda Síochána.

Please note the following important details ahead of the reposal for Don:

• An Garda Síochána will close the affected road on Wednesday.

• Parking is available at the Primary Care Centre, An Fuarán, SuperValu, and the Church.

• Shuttle bus pick-up will be opposite the Playground in Maigh Cuilinn.

• Shuttle bus drop-off will be at the N59 village bus stop.

• A one-way traffic system will be in operation for buses: beginning at the Village, travelling up the Mountain Road, right into Drumaveg, and continuing down to Drimcong.
