The death has occurred of Clare (Margaret) McCarthy, Drogheda.
McCarthy (née Byrne), Clare, Drogheda town, 3rd August 2025, died peacefully at home in the care of her children. Dearly loved mother of Dara, Orna, Donagh, Caoimhe, and adored grandmother of Finn, Noah, Erris, Meeda, Conne and Edie.
Clare was the beloved wife of the late Paddy McCarthy and is survived by her four children, six grandchildren, daughter-in-law Rachel, sons-in-law Eamonn and Richie, brother-in-law Oliver McAvinia and sisters-in-law Betty Dawe and Deborah Byrne. Clare will be greatly missed by her many extended family members, friends and former work colleagues.
The family would like to express their gratitude to those involved in Clare’s care in recent years, in particular the staff of the CKB unit at Beaumont Hospital and the local healthcare professionals.
House private at this time. There will be no public funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the cancer charity of your choice.
