Brendan Canavan, Ballinkillen, Co. Carlow, passed away peacefully in the care of the kind staff in the Barrow Ward, St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, on 22nd September 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his son Brian, parents Michael and Mary, brothers John, Mikie, Eddie, Gerry, Paddy, Jimmy and his sister May. Brendan will be lovingly remembered and very sadly missed by his loving family, his wife Mary, sons David and Ciarán, daughters Siobhán and Niamh, his adored grandchildren Alice Rose, Arden, Evan and Ava, daughter-in-law Sarah, sons-in-law Eoin and James, sister Annie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, kind neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Cushen’s Funeral Home, Kilcarrig Street, Bagenalstown (R21 V127) on Wednesday, 24th September, from 2pm until 8pm, with prayers at 6pm. Removal from his residence on Thursday, 25th September, to arrive at St. Laserian’s Church, Ballinkillen, for Requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
