Bernie Shire (nee Burke) (Boherbui, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick) – passed away peacefully, on the 9th November 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at Saint Ita's Community Hospital, Newcastle West.

Bernie is predeceased by her husband Georgie, and her son Richard, her brothers Bob and Brendan, and sisters Kit and Mary.

Beloved mother of Mary and Ber, Bernie will be sadly missed by her loving family, sons-in-law Jon and Ger, her cherished grandchildren Aoibhe, Ciara, Caoimhe and Ronan. Fondly remembered by her brothers in law John and Kevin, sister in law Doris, nephews and nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends.

May Bernie's Soul Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Riedy's Funeral Home, Newcastle West, on Monday 10th November from 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock, arriving at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 8.30 o'clock.

Requiem Mass at 11.30 o'clock on Tuesday 11th November , with burial afterwards in St. David's Cemetery, Churchtown, Newcastle West.
