Willie (Bill) Ward

The death has occurred of Willie (Bill) Ward – Ashe Road, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and formerly of Lecarrow, Co Roscommon – September 9, 2025 (peacefully) at his home in the care of his loving family after a long life well lived. Predeceased by his parents George and Kathleen, sisters Teresa, Mary and Donnie, brothers Gerard, George and Martin and his son-in-law Aidan. Beloved husband of Kathleen and dear father of Gerard, Patricia (Gibney), Marie (Brennan) and Catherine (Thornton). Willie will be sadly missed by his loving family, his adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Colette, sons-in-law Eamonn and Jim, brothers Hugh, Paddy and Brian, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, kind neighbours, good friends and former colleagues at E.S.B.

Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home (N91 K660) on Thursday from 6.30 pm concluding with prayers at 8.30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 am in the Cathedral of Christ the King and may be viewed on the live webcam below. Burial afterwards in Ballyglass Cemetery.

The family would like to sincerely thank all who cared for Willie during his illness.
