Violet McDonnell (nee Shorten) Ballynameagh, Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath and formerly of Woodfield, Clonakilty, Co Cork and Toronto, Canada.

On July 11th 2025, peacefully at home in the tender care of her husband Christy, after an illness bravely fought. Violet will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted husband Christy, her dearly loved sisters Lil and Evie, brother & sister in laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Violet is predeceased by her adored older brothers, Jack and Bill.

 

Reposing in St. Michael's Church of Ireland, The Square, Castlepollard on Friday, 18th July 2025 from 7pm to 8pm. Funeral Service and Thanksgiving for Violet's life will take place on Saturday, 19th July at 12 noon, condolences and sympathy from 11am. Burial immediately afterwards in Kilafree Cemetery, Castlepollard.
