Very Rev. Fr. Gerard Stapleton P.P.

Stapleton, (Lismore Co. Waterford, Port Sulphur, New Orleans U.S.A. and Cappanuke, Cappamore, Co. Limerick) On October 23rd 2025, peacefully at home with his niece Yvonne and family in Cappamore, Very Rev. Fr. Gerard Stapleton, former P.P. at St. Patrick's Church, Port Sulphur. Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Nora, brother Oliver (Limerick) and infant brother Billy. Deeply regretted by his beloved sister Annette (Ahlsved), brother-in-law Gus and sister-in-law Carole Stapleton. Dearest uncle of Yvonne (Neiland), Elaine (Wallace), Olivia (Essex), Laura (Brzek) and Karl (Ahlsved) and their spouses. Sadly missed by his 13 adored grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, his parishioners of St. Patrick's Church, Port Sulphur, New Orleans and his many friends in the U.S.A. and Ireland.

Fr. Gerard will repose in St. Carthage's Church, Lismore on Monday (October 27th) from 12.30pm until 1.30pm when prayers will be offered.

Requiem Mass later that afternoon at 2pm followed by burial in St. Carthage's Cemetery, Lismore.
