Tony Merrifield

The death has occurred of Tony Merrifield – Ballyfermot, Dublin and Beechlawns, Mullingar, Co Westmeath – September 9th, 2025 (peacefully) with his loving family by his side, in the professional care of the dedicated staff of St James Hospital Dublin following a long illness bravely borne. A dearly loved son and brother, Tony will be very sadly missed and always remembered by his devoted parents Geraldine and Mervyn, his loving brother Eamonn and dear sister Thérèse, his adored nieces Ayla and Madison, his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, his many friends and former colleagues at the National Library of Ireland.

Reposing at Gilsenans Funeral Home, Mullingar (N91 K660) on Thursday September 11th from 3.30 pm with a Service to celebrate Tony’s life commencing at 5 pm. A private cremation will take place. House private please.
