Thomas Joseph (Tom) Mulvey
(1937-2025)
Bethnal Green, London and formerly of Lisgarney, Jamestown, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim
Sunday 24th August 2025
Peacefully, in his 89th year, after a long illness bravely borne, at his home in Bethnal Green, with his loving and devoted wife Mary (Ballinasloe) at his bedside.
Eldest child of Maggie (née Lavin) and Bernie Mulvey. Predeceased by his parents, his son Stephen, (Manchester) his sister Margaret (Dublin), and brothers Jimmy (London), Brian and George (Jamestown).
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his heartbroken wife, Mary, his daughter, Anne and her husband John (Essex), sons: Paul and his wife, Elizabeth (Rochfortbridge), Mick and his wife, Alison (Carrick), sisters: Mary, Anne (Dublin) and brothers: Pat (Dublin) and John (New York).
Sadly mourned by his grandchildren: Carolyn, Emma (Westmeath), Daniel, Jack (Essex), Charlotte, Tom (Manchester), Matty, Ciara and Sinéad (Carrick), great-grandchildren and a wide circle of cousins, nieces and nephews among the Mulvey, Lavin, Noone, Flanagan, Regan, Burke and O’Connor families and his many friends in music and football in Ireland and London.
Rest in Peace
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, September 26th at 12.15pm at Our Lady of the Assumption RC Church, Victoria Park Square, Bethnal Green, LONDON E2 9PB, followed by cremation at 3pm at City of London Cemetery and Crematorium, Aldersbrook Road, Manor Park, London, E12 5DQ.
Mass will also be offered for the blessing of Tom’s ashes and the repose of his soul in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Jamestown, Co Leitrim, on a date to be confirmed in late October.
