Seán Monaghan

Seán Monaghan of Riversdale House, Athenry, Galway (formerly Arklow) passed away peacefully on July 21st, 2025, in the gentle care of the staff at University Hospital Galway with his family by his side. Beloved son of Norrie and the late Derry Monaghan, Seán will be sadly missed by his siblings, Mary, Marcella, Helen, Jacqueline, Anne, Dermot, and Dominic; his in-laws Seán Geeney, Seán Newell, David Kelly, and Sinéad Deely; and his nephews and nieces, Manolis, Stella, Seán, Derry, Emmanouella, Fionnuala, Cathal, Aoife, Diarmuid, Cian, and Éalga; grand nephews and nieces, as well as extended family and friends. Reposing at Gardner’s Funeral Home, Athenry (H65 EV80) on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025 from 5:00pm. Removal at 7:00pm to the Church of the Assumption, Athenry (H91 PV27). Requiem Mass will take place on Thursday, July 24th, 2025 at 12:00pm. Burial thereafter in New Cemetery, Athenry.
