Peter Morwood

Peter Morwood, born Robert Peter Smyth (20 October 1956) in Lisburn, County Antrim; passed away suddenly at home in Grangecon, County Wicklow after a brief illness, on May 9th, 2025.

He was predeceased by his father George and his mother Dorothy, and is deeply missed by his wife Diane, his sister Caroline and brother-in law David, his nephew Jason, his extended family, and his neighbours and many friends. Peter and his work remain alive in the hearts of his many readers and of colleagues in the writing community around the world.

In accordance with Peter’s wishes, no funeral service has been held, and private cremation has taken place. Those wishing to commemorate Peter by donations to charity in his name are asked to give to Médecins Sans Frontières (https://www.msf.ie), to local charities supporting cardiopulmonary research and people with heart conditions, or to local pet support charities in their areas, especially those focusing on cats.
