In Loving Memory of Margaret Mary Pruna (née O'Connor)
Age 61 • St. Augustine, Florida
Formerly of New Jersey and Fermoyle, Calry Co. Sligo.
With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Margaret Mary Pruna (née O'Connor), age 61, of St. Augustine, Florida, formerly of New Jersey and her beloved Ireland. Margaret passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and quiet strength. She was the devoted wife of Greg, and a deeply loving mother to her four children: Michael, Conor (and his wife Michelle), Claire, and Elise — who were the pride and joy of her life.
Margaret was predeceased by her first husband, Patrick McGowan, whose memory remained close to her heart. She will be forever missed by her 4 sisters and 4 brothers, Deirdre (UK), Anne Marie (USA), Seamus (Australia), Martin (Calry), Francis (Calry) Imelda (Calry) Vincent (Glencar) and Carmel (Northern Ireland), as well as their husbands, wives, partners, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She also shared a close and special bond with her father-in-law, lovingly known as Pop Pop, who will miss her dearly.
Margaret’s warmth and loving nature were felt by everyone she met. Her heart was as wide as it was kind, and she made people feel welcomed, accepted, and loved without hesitation. Whether she was offering a listening ear, a comforting embrace, or sharing a moment of joy, her presence was one that drew others to her in the most loving way. She had an extraordinary ability to make people feel seen and cherished, and her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Her roots in Ireland, time spent in New Jersey, and life in Florida shaped her story — but it was her unwavering love for her family and her generous, open-hearted nature that defined it.
A private service will be held to honor Margaret’s life.
Margaret’s light was a quiet but powerful one. She will be missed more than words can express, and remembered always with deep love.“
