Kate McCarthy
(née O'Donovan)

McCarthy (Clontead, Belgooly) on July 28th 2025, peacefully surrounded by her family in the exceptional care of the Doctors, Management and Staff at Kinsale Community Hospital. Kate, (nee O'Donovan), beloved wife of the late Jim and mother of Mary (Buckley), Phil (Buckley), Lily (Kennedy), Teresa (O'Leary), Helen (McCarthy), Claire (O'Donovan), Eoin, James and the late Geraldine (Allen). Predeceased by her brothers Jim and John, sisters Madge, Nora and Nell and grandson Keith.

 

Sadly missed by her grandchildren Brian, Sharon, Gillian, Jeanette, Emma, Louise, Shirley, Holly, Lisa, Timothy, Patricia, James, Christine, Damien, Laura, Chloe, Andrew, Kelly, Ciara, Aisling and Abby and her 19 great-grandchildren.

 

Fondly remembered by her loving family, sons-in-law Tim, Cornie, Pat, Seamus and Tommy, daughter-in-law Yvonne, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

 

Kate will be lying in repose at Gabriel and O'Donovan's Funeral Home, Kinsale on Tuesday from 8pm followed by prayers at 9pm.

 

Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 2.30pm in Sacred Heart Church, Belgooly, funeral afterwards to St. Eltin's Cemetery, Kinsale.
