John O'Neill

O'Neill, Church Cross, Skibbereen. On 29th June 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. ​​​​​JOHN, predeceased by his parents Michael and Kitty, brother Albert and sister Mary. Deeply missed and fondly remembered by his beloved wife Mary, his children Majella, Michael and Ronan and his cherished grandchildren Michael, Fiona and Shane. He is also mourned by his son-in-law Michael Collins, daughter-in-law Claire, brother-in-law Tim, sister-in-law Catherine and their son Dan Leahy. John’s passing is a great loss and he is lovingly remembered, by all whose lives he touched and his extended family, dear friends, neighbours and all who knew him through his many years of dedicated service at Church Cross Post Office.

May John's Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Reposing at Romie O’Donovan’s Funeral Home, North Street, Skibbereen on Wednesday, 2nd July from 6pm to 8pm followed by Prayers. Requiem Mass in St.Comghall’s Church, Lisheen on Thursday 3rd July at 1pm, followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

The O’Neill family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Donal Cahill (Lisheen), Dr. Don Creagh, Dr. Gerard O’Shaughnessy and the staff at Skibbereen Medical Centre, especially Bernice and Teresa for their exceptional care and kindness. Special thanks to Public Health Nurse Kitty and her colleagues at the HSE, Camille and staff at Marymount Community Palliative Care Services, Liz and the Cancer Society Night Nurse Services, Drinagh Pharmacy, Prof. Conleth Murphy and all at Bons Secours Hospital, Cork, Dr. Martin Higgins and all at The Glandore Centre, CUH, Cork for their unwavering support.
