Formerly Doonis, The Pigeons, Athlone. Peacefully in his own home, surounded by his loving family following a short illness. John is predeceased by his parents: Marie (nee Grouden) & Jack, sister Goretti (Keegan), nephew & godson Denis (Lynch), grand-nephews Cameron (Fox), angels Rory (Keegan) and Hugo (Finerty), brothers-in-law, Michael Stacey, Patrick Keegan and Oliver Walshe. He is deeply regretted by his dear loving friend Margaret Mulvey, his brothers and sisters: Rosemary (O'Toole), Anne (Walshe), Sheila (Lynch), Michael, Joseph, Gerard, Eugene, Imelda (Finerty), Oliver, Theresa (Fox) and Martina (Stacey), sisters-in-law Marian, Anne & Rose, brother-in-law Liam, nephews, nieces, grand nephews & nieces, god-children: Deirdre H, Siobhán, Deirdre M & Michael, cousins, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing in St Mary's Church, Tang this Tuesday evening from 5.30 o'clock until 7.30 o'clock followed by prayers. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 12 o'clock followed by burial in Temple-A-Valley cemetery. Family flowers only please, Donations in lieu to the South Westmeath Hospice Foundation (https://southwestmeathhospice.ie/donations/) or Irish cancer society. House private please.
