John Joe passed away peacefully on the 13th of September 2025 at University Hospital Waterford. Predeceased by his parents Annie and James, brothers Mickey and Jim, sisters Maureen, Eileen and Kathleen, sister-in-law Dorothy (previous day in the USA), members of the French and Walsh families.

John Joe is deeply mourned and sadly missed by his wife Eleanor (née Walsh), children Marie-Rose, John and Julie Anne, nephews and nieces Nicky, Áine and Packie Lenane, Ann, James, Cathy, Mary Bridget, Elizabeth, Janet, Jean, Margaret and Jimmy French, extended family and friends.

John Joe will be reposing at The Kiely Funeral Home, Dungarvan on Sunday evening, 14th September from 5 p.m. with Prayers at 7 p.m. Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. on Monday morning, 15th September in the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Old Parish. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
