John H Lyons

John H Lyons, age 75, of Cahergal, Clonbur, County Galway, and formerly of Killiney, County Dublin, passed away peacefully on June 10th, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Caroline, John will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children David, Emily, Philip, and Tara; his cherished grandchildren Daisy, Jack, Ferdia, Harry, Dorothy, Lochlainn, and Beau; his daughters-in-law Breda and Suzanne; his son-in-law Colm; his brothers Lorcan and Rory; extended family, and a wide circle of friends.

A legend. A lover of life, music and fishing, he always had a twinkle in his eye. There was no one like him.

The family will be forever grateful to all the staff at The Galway Clinic and Wicklow Hospice for their compassion and for the exceptional standard of care that he received.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home, Clonbur, Co. Galway (F12 N9T8) on Friday, June 13th, from 4:30–6:00pm, with the Funeral Mass to be held at midday on Saturday, June 14th, in St. Patrick’s Church, Clonbur. The funeral will then proceed to Shannon Crematorium, where a short service will be held at 4:00pm.
