John (Dixie) LYONS

John (Dixie) Lyons (Askelane, Louisburgh, Co. Mayo.) April 16th 2025:- Peacefully at The Mayo Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his infant children Mary (1970) & Redmond Thomas (1977) and his grand-daughter Ashling (2010). Sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife Brenda (née O'Reilly), sons Richard (Malahide), Austin (Askelane), & John (Askelane), daughters-in-law Helen, Maggie, & Mairead, grandchildren Séan, Sarah, Shane, Kate, Niamh, Áine, Eve, Austin, John, Edith & Lydia, sisters-in-law Kathleen & Mary Lyons (Chicago) Gertrude Corrigan (Belturbet), nephews, nieces, cousins, extended Lyons & O'Reilly families and a wide circle of friends. John was predeceased by his parents Richard (Dixie) and Mary (née Scott) and his siblings Redmond, Dick, Paddy, Michael, Tommy, Beecie, Annie (Gibbons), Mary, & Tess (Mahoney).

 

May His Kind Soul Rest In Peace.

 

John will rest in repose at Sweeney's Funeral Home, Louisburgh on Easter Sunday (April 20th) from 6:00pm, concluding with Vigil Prayers at 8:00pm, followed by removal, walking to St. Patrick's Church, Louisburgh. Mass of Christian Burial on Easter Monday at 11:00am, followed by interment in Killeen Cemetery.
