Helen (Lena) Smith (née Hogan), Dublin Road, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and formerly of Ruan, Co Clare.

Lena died peacefully in her home on 18 September 2025. Beloved wife of the late John. She will be forever missed by her loving children, Ann (Caulfield), Liz (Sheridan), John, Helen (Glennon) and Aidan, her sons-in-law Paddy, Gerry and Matthew, daughters-in-law Ursula and Heather, sister-in-law Margaret, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Lena was adored by her 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Remembering also the deceased members of the Smith and Hogan families.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord

Reposing at Gilsenans Funeral Home (N91 K660) on Friday 19 September from 4 pm to 6 pm with Removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 6.30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 20 September at 11 am and the Mass may be viewed on the live webcam below. Burial afterwards in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Marlinstown.
