Gerard passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully at his residence on Friday, 25th July 2025.

Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Celia.

A devoted husband and best friend to his heartbroken wife Mary (née Shalvey).

An adored father to Sinéad, Aoife, Rónán, Brian and Clíona.

Gerard will be deeply mourned and sadly missed by his sons-in-law Niall, Pat and David, daughters-in-law Rachel and Linda, grandchildren Amy, Colm, Ella, Abby, Joey, Thomas, Alice, Sam and Billy, brothers-in-law Mike, Gerard, Pat, Noel and Jimmy, extended family, neighbours and his many friends.

Gerard will lie in repose in Kilboys Funeral Home, Loughrea (H62 KF62) on Monday 28th July from 5pm to 7pm.

Gerard’s funeral cortege will arrive to St. Brendan’s Cathedral, Loughrea, on Tuesday 29th July, for Requiem Mass at 12.30pm, followed by burial afterwards in Mount Pleasant cemetery.
