Fr. JOHN KEANE

Fr John Keane SMA PP Gombe, Nigeria formally of Knockreigh, Milltown who passed away unexpectedly on 15th October 2025 in Nigeria.

 

Predeceased by his parents, Seán and Bridget, brothers Donie, Aeneas, Tom and cousin Sonny.

 

Fr John will be deeply missed by his sister Gretta, brother-in-law Seamus, sister-in-law Ann, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, the Society of the African Missions and the parish of St. James Catholic Church Gombe.

Funeral mass and burial for Fr John will take place in Nigeria. A memorial mass for Fr John will take place in the Sacred Heart Church Milltown on Sunday 26th October at 1pm.

 

The family would like to give a special mention and heartfelt thank you to Fr John’s African family and dear friends of the Society of African Missions who have been looking after him with great love, care and respect in life and in death.
