Ellen Green (née Doherty)

Formerly of Ballinacraig, Glenvar, Co Donegal and Cathkin, Rutherglen, Scotland.

Peacefully at 3 Bridges Care Home, Glasgow on Monday 8th September 2025, in her 103rd year. Beloved Wife to the late Patrick and predeceased by her son Denis and daughter Frances.

Greatly missed by her loving family; daughters Una (Gallagher) and Sheila (Loughlin), sons John, Joe, Tony, sons and daughters in law and partners; adored grandchildren Katie, Sarah, Liam, Megan, David, Fiona, Colette, Martin, Kevin and Emma, great grandchildren Isla, Orla, Iona, Margot and Matthew; nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Ellen’s remains will be received into St Anthony’s RC Church Mar Gardens, Rutherglen, Glasgow G73 5JE, on Thursday 25th September at 6.30pm. Her Funeral Mass will take place on Friday 26th September at 9.30am, and thereafter to the Linn Cemetery for 11am. Family flowers only please. If desired, donations in lieu of flowers can be made to SCIAF.
