Edward (Ned) Rooney

Rooney, Edward (Ned), (late of Drimnagh), 16th September 2025; passed peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family in the kind care of the staff of St. James’ Hospital. Beloved husband and best friend of Bernie, loving dad of Aisling, Rebecca, Rhonda, Pamela, Edward, Naomi, and his late baby son Andrew. Adored grandad to his seventeen wonderful grandchildren, and late grandson baby Sonny. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters, and son-in-law Darren.

 

Ned will be forever loved and very sadly missed by his heartbroken wife, son, daughters, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the Brian McElroy Funeral Home, Crumlin Village on Thursday from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 10am in Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Mourne Road, followed by Cremation in The Garden Chapel, Mount Jerome Cemetery arriving at approximately 12 noon.
