Edward Francis "Frank" Vesey, born on February 8, 1947, in Cashel south, County Sligo, Ireland, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, in Vero Beach, Florida. He was the cherished son of Catherine and Edward Vesey.
In his youth, Frank was an exceptional football player, captaining his GAA team to many victories and Championships—a testament to his athleticism, leadership and competitive spirit. Frank emigrated to New York in 1966. In October 1971, he married Agnes, the love of his life. Together, they created a family built on strength and resilience. Frank dedicated his career to construction, playing a role in shaping many of New York City's buildings. Many of his friends affectionately referred to him as "Frank the Rock," as there was no denying his physical strength and commitment to providing for his family.
Frank and Agnes retired in 2008 to Vero Beach, FL. His retirement years were marked by treasured moments with his children and grandchildren, and the joy of Florida’s sunshine. Everything he worked so hard for.
Last summer, Frank was blessed to return home to Ireland, spending time with his family reminiscing about the past, laughing, and joking. He was able to show his children and grandchildren all his favorite places in Sligo, leaving them with beautiful memories of their father and grandfather.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife of over 50 years, Agnes Vesey; his daughters Catherine Vesey and Tara Coyle (Patrick); and his three beloved grandchildren: Lila Bridget, Ellie Mae, and James Francis Coyle. He is also survived by his stepchildren: Mary Draughon, Richard Moreland, and Irene Reed (David); as well as his step-grandchildren: David, Bridget, Danny, Katie, Charlie, and Sarah. Frank is dearly remembered by his siblings: Nancy, Bernard (Eileen), Mary, Michael, Una, and Eugene (Maureen).
Frank's life exemplified hard work, love, and unyielding strength. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
May he rest in eternal peace.
